The Peutz flow technology group consists of highly skilled experts for aerodynamic research and consultancy. The flow technology group operates across the full range of sectors in which Peutz is active such as urban development, maritime and offshore industry and onshore industry.

From the earliest design stage assessment to operational trouble shooting and simulation of future developments flow technology is a key factor. A state of the art wind tunnel laboratory and advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) facilities are used for flow technology research and consultancy.

The main area's of research are:

  • Wind climate
  • Wind loads
  • Air quality and gas dispersion
  • Smoke dispersion
  • Helicopter deck assessment
  • Product development
  • Specials

Techniques used are: wind speed and turbulence measurements, flow visualisation, dynamic pressure measurements, dynamic force balance measurements, gas dispersion measurements.

Computational Fluid Dynamics simulations using techniques of steady and unsteady Reynolds Averaged Navier Stokes (RANS) calculations as well as Large Eddy Simulations (LES).
