Building facades are one of the largest and most important elements in the overall aesthetic and technical performance of a building. Facade engineering is the art and science of solving aesthetic, environmental and structural problems to achieve effective envelopment of buildings.
A core activity of Facade Engineering is providing advice in the field of flat glass applications and making glass strength calculations for glass structures using NEN 2608. We also give advice on materials, glass, design and assessment of facade details, writing specification texts, inspections of materials, performing production checks and assembly and completion inspections.
We conduct independent investigations on behalf of arbitration cases, GIW warranty claims, insurance companies, property managers, contractors, manufacturers and Owners’ Associations. Peutz also has deep-rooted expertise in façade technology, supporting project developers, architects and contractors with consultancy and services covering façade design, building physics, airtightness, glass strength and various other related disciplines.
