We advise in the field of fire safety. In doing so, we focus primarily on the safety of people. Ultimately, being able to escape safely is the most important thing. In addition, we also pay attention to aspects such as keeping fire manageable and reducing it.
We advise fire safety facilities in the areas of evacuation, smoke and fire compartmentation, fire manageability and smoke control. This involves structural provisions, but also installations. In our advice we combine our expertise and knowledge of the complex regulations, with a responsible dose of creativity.
We have our own fire safety laboratory, advanced measuring facilities and calculation programs. We are able to test a design according to the applicable Dutch NEN standards. To keep abreast of new developments, Peutz is a member of various NEN standards committees. We are also rapporteur of several standards.
In the market, ‘expert assessments’ are widely used to substantiate the frequently occurring difference between a test and reality. To further increase the quality of these assessments, we have drawn up a number of “rules of the game” together with Efectis. Important points of attention are the source documents on which the assessment is based and the (demonstrable) experience that the draftsman must have with the behavior of structures when heated.
Fire safety can no longer be ignored in the design and management of buildings and industrial installations. Peutz develops fire safety plans that focus on the controllability of fire, suppression, fire penetration and spread. We also recommend escape possibilities. If you wish, we can also draw up an evacuation plan.
