Substance dispersion and outdoor air quality

Contact information

We investigate the dispersion of gases and other substances to protect human health and safety. By preventing exposure to hazardous substances or nuisance odors, we contribute to a safe and comfortable living environment. Depending on the situation, we use Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and/or wind tunnel testing to accurately map the dispersion.

What do we do?

We conduct research for a wide range of situations, including:

  • Air quality along traffic routes
  • Emissions from industrial installations
  • Exhaust systems from parking garages, hospitality venues, and ventilation systems
  • Dispersion of smoke gases from ships
  • Emergency venting systems for energy carriers such as LNG, hydrogen, methanol, ammonia, and other substances
  • Emergency ventilation for hazardous substances and engine rooms
  • Effects of hot gas plumes at helicopter landing sites

Tailored advice

Each project requires a specific approach. We provide guidance on the design, positioning, and sizing of systems and verify compliance with applicable standards and guidelines. In doing so, we ensure that risks are minimized and that the health and safety of people are safeguarded.
