We have various facilities for testing facades and facade materials:
- A facade test cabinet installed within the laboratory in which facade elements up to 3.6 x 3.6 m can be built. The cabinet is equipped with facilities for measuring air permeability, water tightness, strength, stiffness, condensation behaviour, extraction behaviour of climate facades and thermal insulation value. Infrared lamps are also available for research into thermal length changes, for example. The maximum test pressure is 7000 Pa.
- A facade test cabinet located outside the laboratory in which facade elements up to 3.6 x 3.6 m can be installed. This cabinet is also equipped with facilities for measuring air permeability, water tightness, strength and stiffness. In addition, specific facilities are available for performing driving rain tests, for example, on facade cladding with open joints. The set-up can also be used to investigate the behaviour under actual climate conditions.
- A set-up for testing sealing materials such as foam bands. In the set-up, 10 m of tape can be examined for air permeability and water tightness.
- A set-up for determining the pressure/flow rate relation of façade ventilation grilles and suspensions.
