There are various methods available to assess the sustainability of a building, with BREEAM-NL being one of the most widely used methods in the Netherlands.
BREEAM-NL originated from a market-driven initiative aimed at significantly improving the sustainability of the built environment in the Netherlands. Its development is led by the Dutch Green Building Council (DGBC), with Peutz involved as a Founding Partner.
This method evaluates not only the (expected future) energy use, but also material use, construction methods, and the building’s impact on users and the surrounding environment. The number of aspects considered is significantly greater than those currently regulated by Dutch legislation, and the targeted performance level exceeds legal requirements. A detailed explanation of the method can be found at www.dgbc.nl.
Peutz employs DGBC-trained experts who are certified to guide the process of obtaining a BREEAM-NL label. In addition, Peutz has the experience and expertise to provide integrated advice on a large and significant portion of the BREEAM-NL assessment criteria. Peutz specializes in several areas, including architectural and technical design and spatial planning.
Our organization has an in-house BREEAM-NL Assessor for New Construction and Renovation. With the corresponding assessor license, we can carry out the mandatory independent assessment of projects. Since we also have BREEAM-NL expert knowledge in-house, we know what to look for and stay well informed about the latest developments in practice. This combination ensures that we understand the process, know where potential bottlenecks may arise, and can effectively support clients on their way to successful certification.
Below are some of the projects we have certified:
**BREEAM-NL Outstanding *****
**BREEAM-NL Excellent ****
