Home / Acoustics and noise / Noise control / Noise at the workplace
Noise can be a significant risk factor for the health and well-being of employees in the workplace. Above certain thresholds, it is mandatory to measure noise levels during work activities. When noise levels fluctuate significantly, we determine the average exposure (the daily dose). Through accurate calculations, we prevent the necessary measures from being overestimated or underestimated.
Noise control in the workplace can be tackled in various ways. Where possible, we tackle the noise problem at source, for example by developing quieter designs or low-noise solutions for new installations and machines. Together with the client, we realize an optimal low-noise concept for new situations.
In existing situations, adjustments at the source are sometimes less feasible, either technically or financially. In such cases, we investigate alternatives, such as improving enclosures, applying silencers, installing sound-absorbing material, or improving building insulation. Every situation requires a customized approach, in which we always strive for the most effective and economical solution, or a smart combination thereof.
