Home / Environment / Sunlight
Sunlight has a major impact on the quality of our living and working environment. A good design takes into account the amount of sunlight that enters buildings, homes and public spaces. Too much sunlight can lead to overheating and glare, while too little sunlight reduces living and working comfort. In addition, sufficient daylight is important for people’s well-being and for the energy performance of buildings.
Peutz supports architects, project developers and government agencies with expert sunlight studies. With a clear analysis, we identify the effects of new buildings or changes in the environment on sunlight exposure and daylight entry.
We carry out sunlight studies for:
• Development of new construction projects
• Changes in the environment of existing buildings
• Determination of shadow effects on gardens, balconies, facades and public spaces
• Substantiation for permit applications
• Research into daylight access in accordance with NEN standards
Using advanced calculation models and visualisations, we provide insight into how sun and shade develop throughout the year. In this way, we ensure that designs comply with applicable guidelines and are optimally suited to the desired use.
