p>We have been advising Cosun Beet Company for many years on permit and spatial planning procedures. In doing so, we carry out a wide range of technical studies, including noise impact on the surroundings, emissions to air, water and soil, and external safety. This way, we support the company both substantively and strategically in complex processes.
Cosun Beet Company operates two sugar factories in the Netherlands. These factories are characterized by large outdoor installations that generate significant noise emissions. In addition, there is a high volume of traffic on the premises, especially during the sugar beet campaign from September to January, when large quantities of beets are delivered and sugar and by-products are transported out.
Over the years, we have supervised several noise abatement operations to significantly reduce noise levels toward surrounding residential areas. This not only ensured compliance with legal noise standards but also created noise capacity for new construction and expansions. Noise-reducing measures such as enclosures, barriers, and installation optimizations were designed and calculated by us. We also provided integrated guidance on the large-scale changes resulting from the concentration of sugar production at two locations, covering noise, vibrations, and other environmental aspects.
In addition to these technical studies, we have also supported Cosun Beet Company strategically in the required permitting procedures. This included mapping environmental impacts and advising on strategy and justification toward the competent authority. Furthermore, we conducted specific studies on workplace noise and carried out various vibration studies, including for the placement and foundation of large-scale installations.
We have also provided advice for other business units of Cosun Beet Company, such as the specialty factory in Puttershoek and the sugar storage facility in Zevenbergen. These ranged from noise and vibration studies to broader environmental issues, always with the aim of achieving optimal integration into the surroundings.
